Four years ago, it took no time at all for Cody Marshall to fall for the rookie pitcher at spring training. While their lives were nothing alike, Cody understood Nick Stone’s insecurities and pain. And then… Nick left. Eventually, Cody found his own passion and landed a dream internship with the Mavericks. His life was finally turning around. And then… Nick came back.

Just like the first time they met, Cody finds himself falling for Nick. Unfortunately, Nick is still plagued by the belief that he is where he is because of his father. If they’re ever going to make it, Cody has to have to prove to Nick that his success has little to do with his name and everything to do with his drive to succeed.

Two men, both close to having everything they’ve wanted. Will they be able to find the sweet spot between dreams and desire?

Sweet Spot Homeruns Book 4 edition by Sloan Johnson Romance eBooks

I eagerly awaiting this book. I have read all the books in the Homerun Series. Each one stands alone and could be read if you did not read the others. However following the boys of summer from the beginning is has been awesome.Nick and Cody have one a very intense couple of weeks as young adults and then it is abruptly shut down. Nick has a lot of baggage and is trying to make it to the big leagues. When these two are thrown back together life gets interesting for them. I love these characters, these guys could be your best friend. They have real problems, they are not perfect and they struggle to find happiness and balance in their lives. There is some steam but the story is more about just being two people in love and trying to figure out how to make it work.

One of my favorite moments is after Nicks big game. "I deepened the kiss, tasting the remnants of cherry coke and cinnamon mints. It was the flavor of love. Yep, totally cheesy, but I was cool with that."

Sweet Spot Homeruns Book 4 edition by Sloan Johnson Romance eBooks Reviews

I have loved every book in this series. This is no different. Cody and Nick start out rough but in the end they work things out. This love story wasn't an easy one, they had more rough patch than most, but it was worth it.
Cody and Nicks story is one for the books! I loved all of their story! I cant wait to read more Clint and Kevin's story!
I have to be honest that Cody and Nick aren't my favorite pairing in this series, but this book was fun to read. Nick's insecurities were a bit out of control and Cody seemed, at times, too forgiving and then switch to too harsh for my liking.
Another great book in this series!! I loved these boys and their story. Cody was so sweet and almost innocent while Nick was a jerk at first. Even with Nick being insecure and scared he still knew he needed Cody. Through everything Cody was still always there to help him when he needed it. I can't wait for Clints story next.
This series just blows me away with each book every time! Sloan is an amazing Author. She nails it consistently with characters full of emotion and depth. Storylines so engaging and captivating, you're hooked from the first line. I was so happy Cody got his story. He and Nick are the perfect foils for each other. It's great to catch up with all the guys, see where they are, how their lives are going. I love this series so much!!
Ever make a decision that you thought was right but regretted later? Just like Nick in this story, I have. But Nick got the chance to make up for that mistake, to apologize, to learn from it and to grow thanks to the love, patience, forgiveness and incredibly giving heart of Cody. Letting go of past hurts isn't easy, believe me I know, but you can release that anger, that pain and when you do you can actually live again. This book touched my heart and my soul. Nick and Cody felt so real to me that I wanted to wrap them in a big hug and never let go.
This one has a lot of elements that saved it from being tossed, not the least of which is Cody, and the best of it being that the unique Milwaukee gay family that has come together in the previous three books is also there.

This one brings together the sweet natured but somewhat untrusting Cody from "Triple Play" and Nick, who has never appeared before but is the 24-year-old son of the son of the general manager of the Mavericks. The setting is four years after "Triple Play," which might be a bit of a stretch considering all the goings on here, but it works.

There are several subplots, including an explosive one which I expected in the previous book but which, on reflection, belongs here. And the book is more geared toward the business and political part of baseball rather than on-field exploits--and this is handled very well, indeed.

Why only three stars? Well, I simply could not get myself to like Nick. He is so self-centered in his confusion over his identity and his guilt over having dumped Cody four years before without an explanation that it took the whole book for him to really get over it. I also despised the fact that there wasn't a plausible delineation of the fact that Nick was purely a top and Cody so submissive. It did very little to amp up any sympathy I may have had for Nick.

There is a bonus at the end--the first chapter of the next book in which two of the sneaky characters author Johnson brought into this book become rather opposite MCs. I will complete this series, hoping the next two take me to a level of satisfaction the previous three had.
