This story is a lot more serious than one would expect, so if you're expecting a sweet shoujo romance, this isn't for you. That's not to say this isn't a beautifully rendered tale that one wouldn't get enraptured in, only that shouldn't go into this manga expecting a classic cliche love story. It's the tale of a young girl taken from her world and thrown into feudal era Japan where she encounters many hardships and is nearly killed several times, and is forced to grow up quickly in order to survive in this dangerous new world. It is a story of survival, yet frienship blooms through it all which gives the girl the strength to keep going despite her trials. Although this definitely does not start out as a love story, I sense a lot of room for character growth in the three main characters, so I feel that the situation could change in the future depending on how their relationships evolve. The art is beautiful, the chatacter constructs are realistic and well thought out, and the whole story flowed effortlessly without chaffing or feeling off in any way.

Definitely not a story for the faint of heart expecting a sweet shojou romance. It is serious and sometimes cruel, but it focuses on the heroine's personal growth as she is forced to overcome nearly impossible odds in order to survive, and personally I think that kind of story is beautiful, not for the horrible pain that she experiences, but that she is able to get up and continue onwards and not let herself be defeated by these experiences. It is a story of trials and pain and growth.

I knew that the series existed a while back; but until recently I decided to give it a try. And I was very happy with it!
I loved the drawings, the story line and the characters. In color it would be gorgeous!. Thank you Ms. Toma.

It's a little dark over all but also sweet and charming. I love it. Remind me a bit of ancient magus bride.
The book is so good, once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. The story is funny, and interesting, and some parts are a little sad. I find the art to be beautiful, and the characters to be wonderful. I love the book so much and I strongly suggest you read it for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
A cross-world fantasy, tied to the common aspect of water. A young girl travels to an ancient era through a water bridge and finds friendship and danger.
It's only the first volume so I can't really give anything I dislike- except maybe that I wish it was longer )

The artwork is beautiful, the flow of the story so far is great, I love Subaru's determination and kind spirit. I am very eager to see how Asahi and the water dragon god change throughout the entire story.

If you'd like to compare this to something I would liken it a bit to Kamisama Hajimemashita (Hajimemashite? I can't remember, but it's otherwise known as Kamisama Kiss). Just in the way that the fox demon starts out as cold and slowly he begins to change and all. I loved that and I get the feeling I'll love this.
